Getting There:
I flew from Detroit to Bangkok (via LAX) and spent an evening at a friend's apartment in Bangkok (to explore). The next morning, I took a small plane down to Phuket. From Phuket, hopped on a ferry to get to the islands. There are ferries and water taxis that are critical to get around the islands, which many are so small that they don't have airports. Phuket is the largest airport in the south, among the islands that are so famous in Thailand.
Rest Your Body:
Villaguna Residence & Hotel has lovely views and the rooms were gorgeous. In addition, the pool is picturesque, overlooking the sea. It was large, clean and a perfect temperature. I especially loved the outdoor showers (that are surrounded with privacy walls). The owner, Nadine, was quite helpful in making recommendations of local restaurants and in helping us plan activities and future plans during our travels.

Adventure: It's incredibly inexpensive to rent a scooter on Ko Yao Noi and the island is easily navigable. There are some lovely beaches and seaside restaurants.
Culinary Delights: Pasai Seafood offers delicious thai cuisine, at inexpensive prices, with a spectacular view right on the beach. I would highly recommend the tom yum soup.
