Hotel Alfonso XIII Lobby

Sevilla is rich in history, culture and incredibly charming. There is so much to do and to see, I suggest spending a minimum of two nights, but if you have the time, stay longer and really indulge.

Accommodations: The Hotel Alfonso XIII is an exquisite and prestigious hotel in the middle of Sevilla. It was a Moorish royal palace in 1929 and was renovated in 2012. It has a fantastic outdoor pool, which comes in handy on hot summer days or after a long day of sight seeing. The hotel is just steps from some of the most famous landmarks in Sevilla and amid countless shops and restaurants.

EME Rooftop View of the

I've had friends stay at the EME hotel. It's a bit more swanky and hip, but does not have the historical relevance and architectural charm of the Hotel Alfonso XIII. It's a matter of personal preference.

Cocktail Hour:

Whether you stay at the EME or not, a MUST is having a drink on their rooftop overlooking one of the largest, and most beautiful, cathedrals in the world. The cathedral is lit and is a fantastic sight over a cocktail.

Adventure: You must visit The Great Cathedral; Cathedral de Santa Maria de la Sede. This is the third largest cathedral in the world, the largest Gothic cathedral and was built in 1400. It's worth stepping inside to see the different wings of this Catholic church. Take a Segway tour! The city is quite large and it's a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time.

Take a tour with Not Just a Tourist. They offer tours and custom tours. The white villages (like Arcos de la Frontera and Grazalema) and Ronda are on their itineraries. If possible, stop by the Francisco Hernandez winery and do a tour and tasting. They make organic wines in the region that are delicious. The tasting is lovely with bread, chorizo and cheese served with the wine. They make a rose and red wine.

Ronda's famous bridge is lovely and there is a nice parador (a former government building that was renovated into a hotel) overlooking it.

Marbella is just 3 hours from Seville. It's charming and full of life, shopping, and parties.

Culinary Delights: Eat lots and lots of tapas. Cross the river into Treana and you will stumble upon some delicious tapas restaurants.

Hidden Gems and Not to Be Missed: Hotel Alfonso XIII, EME Hotel rooftop in the evening, Not Just a Tourist custom tours Fun Facts:

Bottles of great Spanish wine range from 17-30 €. This is about $20-35 or 3-5€ per glass.
