Two nights in Zurich

Zurich is a lovely town sitting along a large river that feeds off of Lake Zurich. It is very easy to get around, but the city is quite pricey.

Rest Your Head:

Loved the Hotel Wellenberg, which is right in the middle of Zurich. It's only a ten minute walk from Lake Zurich, the train station and 1 minute from the river. Make sure to visit the lovely 2nd floor library to relax. They leave out lime, lemon and orange infused water daily and at night, so make sure to take advantage and stay hydrated!

Culinary Delights:

There is a Swiss restaurant right across the way from the Wellenberg with fairly priced food under Hotel Adler called Swiss Chuchi's. It has a menu item that is very traditionally Swiss called a raclette that you should definitely try. Basically you are given items like potatoes, meat of your choice, cheese and various veggies to grill yourself at your table.

We also ate a delicious meal at a restaurant right on Lake Zurich. If you are heading to the lake from town, go to the right and head down the lake for about 10-15 minutes. You will run into Quai 5.

Cocktail Hour:

You absolutely must grab a cocktail at sunset at Jules Verne. It's one of the tallest buildings in Zurich and has an affordable selection of wines, beers and cocktails. It offers the best panoramic view in Zurich overlooking the city.

Adventure:

Grayline Tours offers a great trolley and boat cruise tour. It offers an opportunity to see a large part of the city and the water in just 4 hours. Get to the trolley 20 minutes before start time to get the best seat in the back of the trolley where there are no windows.
