This capital city of Czech Republic is situated around the Vltava River and is well known for its vibrant Old Town. It is is filled with rich history and architecture including Gothic churches and Baroque buildings.
Getting There:
You can taxi from the Prague airport (PRG) to the Old Town for about $20-30 USD. A tax to the Intercontinental hotel was approximately 600 CZK (about 23 USD), but make sure your driver takes credit card before you begin your voyage.

Rest Your Head:
We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel which was nicely situated just a short walk from the main square and overlooked the main river through the city. It had an indoor pool, spa and everyone spoke excellent English and was very helpful. The hotel accommodations were very nice and it was about $200/night.
There was also a Four Seasons a bit closer to the Charles Bridge that was more expensive but had great reviews.
Culinary Delights:
My favorite restaurant in Prague is called Restaurant Mylnec. It's situated right along the river and has delicious, affordable food. I loved the sea bass and the cold tomato soup was actually really tasty and unique. They offer wine pairings and a delicious dessert list as well. Don't wait to eat too late though as restaurants close early in Prague- by 11pm-12pm!

Cocktail Hour:
We came across a basement speakeasy bar that made delicious drinks in Old Town square below the Hotel U Prince called Black Angel's Bar. I loved the Basil drink. Photos are prohibited and the bartenders are very knowledgable and friendly.
Adventure:
-We did a Panoramic bike tour with Praha Bike Company (only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel)- it was a challenging ride but had excellent views of Prague.
-I would also suggest a Segway Tour with Eco Tours (http://www.ecotours.cz), particularly if you are in a group has a member that isn't physically in good shape. It's a 2 hour guided tour of all of the neighborhoods in Prague.

-A walk across the oldest bridge- the Charles Bridge- is a must see.
-Wandering through the winding streets during the day, exploring the shops, is a must. It's also enjoyable during the evening when the streets are bustling with people enjoy an evening out on the town. I never felt unsafe in Prague, but just be sure to stay on the beaten path.
Traveling Tips:
I survived in the city with no Czech currency but if you want to make purchases of drinks, ice cream or smaller items while shopping or touring, you will need small amounts of currency. Prices are very affordable in Czech Republic. Even food is quite affordable.
